Yes! At Personal Wellness PHysical Therapy, you will reieve 1 on 1 care with a Licensed hHysical Therapist for your entire session. The majority of that time will be spent on manual therapy and specific modalities. We do not use low or no skill techs
An internal pelvic floor examination is often recommended because it allows a physical therapist to directly assess muscle strength, coordination, tenderness, and tissue restrictions.
At Personal Wellness Physical Therapy, internal examinations are performed only with informed consent and no coersion. Patients may decline or discontinue an internal assessment at any time. External assessment and treatment are also performed as a normal part of the exam and treatment.
There are certain exercises that target the pelvic floor for strengthening and coordination, as well as tools you can purchase to help make doing exercises at home easier or more effective. Not all exercises are appropriate for all conditions, so it is important to check with your therapist before changing too many things on your own first.
At Personal Wellness Physical Therapy, we take the time to train you on how to perform the exercises, then expect you to do them at home on your own. That way, the majority of our time together is spent on manual therapy and modalities that you can't do yourself at home.

Yes! Depending on underlying causes manual therapies can absolutely increase fertility by reducing scar adhesions caused by endometriosis, c-sections, and chronic inflammation and allowing a clearer path for a fertilized embryo to travel to the uterus. Visceral moblization can also restore normal internal organ mobility to maintain good blood flow to the uterus to support an embryo. SoftWave further enhances these effects as well.
Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle technique that uses specific movements to encourage fluid transport through the lymphatic system.
Traditional massage typically focuses on muscles and soft tissue tension, often using deeper pressure. MLD uses much lighter pressure and follows lymphatic anatomy and drainage pathways.
A Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) is the gold standard of care for conditions like lymphedema, lipedema, and chronic edema due to venous insufficiency.
Massage therapists learn a form of lymphatic drainage, however generally it is performed with too gentle of pressure to effectively stimulate the lymph collectors to pump. While the technique is gentle, it should NOT be feather light.
Lymphatic drainage is also not a deep squeezing to the body either. Especially in the case of post operative or port plastic surgery, fluid should NEVER be pushed toward or out of incisions/wounds.
Seeing a highly trained provider with medical training is the safest form of treatment you can get for managing lympatic disease and post-op care.
Yes. Personal Wellness Physical Therapy provides postoperative lymphatic drainage and rehabilitation following procedures such as:
Liposuction and body contouring
Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)
Brazilian butt lift (BBL)
Breast augmentation, lift, or reconstruction
Facelift and other facial procedures
Lipedema de-bulking
Treatment may help manage postoperative swelling and tissue restrictions while supporting comfortable movement during recovery.
The timing and techniques used depend on the surgical procedure, healing status, and surgeon's instructions.
If the goal of treatment is to reduce pain and inflammation to an acute or chronic injury, then yes SoftWave therapy does cause a tolerable amount of pain that is expected to decrease throughout that treatment session. Pain indicates we are treating the correct area.
Any pain you feel during a treatment should be a self-reported 5-7/10 and decrease to a 0-2/10 during the session.
If the goal is increasing blood vessel formation and we are not treating pain, like for neuropathy and erectile dysfunction, then there is NO PAIN during treatment. No numbing creams are ever required for any SoftWave treatment session.
The number of sessions depends on the condition, symptom duration, treatment response, and overall rehabilitation goals.
Some patients notice changes after an initial session, while chronic conditions may require a series of treatments. A common treatment plan may involve approximately six sessions, although individual recommendations vary.
TheErectile Dysfunction treatment plan is 6 sessions
